This article, ‘Śrī Ratha Yātrāya Śrī Rūpānugānucintana,’ by Śrīla Śrīdhara Mahārāja, was first published in Śrī Gauḍīya Darśana magazine, Vol. 13, issue 1 in August 1969 the name of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Govinda Dāsa Adhikārī Bhakti-kovinda, and was written in response to certain maṭhas performing Ratha Yātrā in the dhāma.
This letter was written by Swami Narasiṅgha in relation to Māhāraja’s article, ‘Gaura-Rādhā-Mādhava and the Temple of Misunderstanding.' Narasiṅgha Mahārāja points out that those who are institutionalized cannot clearly see the defects of their society.
In this article Śrīla B.G. Narasiṅgha Mahārāja gives a brief history of ancient Vaiṣṇava Deities, then explains the ontology of Gaura-Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa, and goes on to explain how Iskcon has deviated from the original Deity concept that Śrīla Prabhupāda initially established in Māyāpura.
