This article was originally written by an unknown author under the editorship of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda and first published in the 8th volume of Dainika Nadīyā Prakāśa on 29th October 1933 under the title, ‘Rasa Yātrā.’ The article explains the dangers of hearing higher topics for the conditioned jīvas and how Śukadeva Gosvāmī has himself warned about this.
In this informal talk given on 18th February 1982 at Śrī Caitanya Sārasvata Maṭha, Navadvīpa, Śrīla Śrīdhara Deva Gosvāmī Mahārāja explains how we should not venture into the details of the higher topics of kṛṣṇa-līlā and how it is not necessary to read such books as Ujjvala Nīlamaṇi in order to elevate oneself to the highest realm.
In 'Fools Rush In Where Angels Fear to Tread' Śrīla Śrīdhara Mahārāja cautions that if one is negligent to protect one’s self against the imitation tendency, one will regrettably be given the inspiration to live in a ‘fool’s paradise,’ thinking that he has now achieved the higher standard of devotion.
‘Gītā Govinda of Jayadeva Gosvāmī' was written by Śrīla Narasiṅgha Mahārāja in September 2005. This article addresses a particular group of devotees who published an English translation of Gītā Govinda, who begged the question that is was necessary to distribute this high literature to one and all.
‘The Standard for Higher Līlā’ by Swami B.V. Giri and Swami B.B. Viṣṇu was first published on May 3rd 2001. In this detailed article, various quotes from previous Gauḍīya ācāryas is given to show the dangers of trespassing into the higher and intimate līlās of Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa when one is unqualified.
“My Guru is Rādhārāṇī'” was written by Swami B.G. Narasingha in January 2001. In this article, Narasingha Maharaja speaks about the internal rasa of his guru, Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedānta Swami Prabhupāda based upon various statements by Śrīla Śrīdhara Mahārāja, as well as indications in the life of His Divine Grace. This article was also included in the book, “Prabhupada Vijaya”.
“Hearing From a Rāsikācārya” was written in August 2000 by Śrīla Narasiṅgha Mahārāja. In this important article, Mahārāja explains how the previous ācāryas have warned immature sādhakas not to stray into ‘dangerous waters’ by gate-crashing into the higher līlās of Rādhā-Govinda. He also stresses the importance of anartha-nivṛtti and nāma-saṅkīrtana.
