Chapter 6 of Prabhup\u0101da Vijaya, 'His Matchless Gift' Is a talk, given in V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana on \u015ar\u012bla Prabhup\u0101da\u2019s disappearance day at K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a-Balar\u0101ma Temple on November 17th, 1993. The glories of \u015ar\u012bla Prabhup\u0101da are shared by Mah\u0101r\u0101ja in relation to a verse from \u015ar\u012bla Raghun\u0101tha D\u0101sa Gosv\u0101m\u012b\u2019s Mukta-carita. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>
Once, I was in \u015ar\u012bla Prabhup\u0101da\u2019s room, not long before he left this world. Several other sanny\u0101s\u012bs<\/em> were also present, and \u015ar\u012bla Prabhup\u0101da asked us each to recite a \u015bloka<\/em> in praise of the guru. At last my turn came. By then however, others had already recited all of the verses that I knew by memory. So I began:<\/p>\nnama o\u1e41 vi\u1e63\u1e47up\u0101d\u0101ya k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a-pre\u1e63\u1e6dh\u0101ya bh\u016btale<\/em>
\n\u015br\u012bmate bhaktived\u0101nta-sv\u0101m\u012bn iti n\u0101mine<\/em><\/p>\nThen I explained the meaning. Prabhup\u0101da sat gravely and replied, \u201cThat is good, but you should learn another \u015bloka<\/em> as well.\u201d Embarrassed, I vowed to take his instruction to heart.<\/p>\nMany years and many verses later, I found myself in an assem\u00adbly of devotees and I heard a beautiful verse in praise of \u015ar\u012b Guru, which was originally composed by Raghun\u0101tha D\u0101sa Gosv\u0101m\u012b in his Mukta-carita<\/em>. Its purport was revealed at the time, and I knew within my heart that this was the verse \u015ar\u012bla Prabhup\u0101da wanted me to learn. Thinking that the time allotted for speaking on this occasion might be short, I wrote a short offering to \u015ar\u012bla Prabhu\u00adp\u0101da in which this verse and its deep meaning are discussed. Let me read it to you.<\/p>\nThe matchless gift that His Divine Grace \u015ar\u012b Vi\u015bv\u0101c\u0101rya \u015ar\u012b \u015ar\u012bmad A.C. Bhaktived\u0101nta Swami Prabhup\u0101da has so graciously given to his disciples, followers, and ultimately the whole world is nicely expressed by \u015ar\u012bla Raghun\u0101tha D\u0101sa Gosv\u0101m\u012b in the follow\u00ading prayer to his spiritual master. What we find expressed here by D\u0101sa Gosv\u0101m\u012b is indeed the essence of our Gau\u1e0d\u012bya samprad\u0101ya<\/em>.<\/p>\nn\u0101ma-\u015bre\u1e63\u1e6dha\u1e41 manum api \u015bac\u012b-putram atra svar\u016bpa\u1e41<\/em>

\npr\u0101pto yasya prathita-k\u1e5bpay\u0101 \u015br\u012b guru\u1e41 ta\u1e41 nato \u2018smi<\/em><\/p>\n\u201cI am fully indebted to \u015ar\u012b Guru. Why? Because he has given me so many matchless gifts. What are they? He has given me the highest conception of the Holy Name of K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, the highest form of sound, which contains the highest form of thought, aspira\u00adtion, ideal, everything. He has given me my d\u012bk\u1e63\u0101-mantra<\/em>, which contains a particular kind of meditation for my heart\u2019s inner ful\u00adfilment, and he has given me the service of \u015ar\u012b \u015aac\u012bnandana, the son of Mother \u015aac\u012b.\u201d<\/p>\n\u015ar\u012bla Prabhup\u0101da has brought me in connection with the lotus feet of \u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu\u2019s favourite personal assistant, \u015ar\u012b Svar\u016bpa D\u0101modara, the representative of Lalit\u0101-dev\u012b, the dearest friend of \u015ar\u012bmat\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101r\u0101\u1e47\u012b.<\/p>\n
\u015ar\u012bla Prabhup\u0101da has brought me in connection with \u015ar\u012bla R\u016bpa Gosv\u0101m\u012b, the head of our samprad\u0101ya<\/em>, who was personally selected by \u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu to distribute bhakti-rasa<\/em>, the highest mellow of spontaneous devotion, r\u0101g\u0101nuga-bhakti<\/em>. \u015ar\u012bla Prabhup\u0101da has given me the connection of \u015ar\u012bla San\u0101tana Gosv\u0101m\u012b, who adjusts our position in relation to r\u0101g\u0101nuga-bhakti<\/em> by giving us sambandha-j\u00f1\u0101na, <\/em>or the knowledge of what is what, and a proper acquaintance with the environment of pure devotion.<\/p>\n\u015ar\u012bla Prabhup\u0101da has given me Mathur\u0101-ma\u1e47\u1e0dala and \u015ar\u012b V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana, where R\u0101dh\u0101 and Govinda eternally perform their loving pastimes. In that transcendental land all the forests, creep\u00aders, shrubs, grains of sand, hills and water \u2013 everything bears the remembrance of R\u0101dh\u0101-K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a\u2019s l\u012bl\u0101<\/em>. I am now becoming acquainted with the association of those cow-herd people of \u015ar\u012b V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana, their nature, and their feelings of love for K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a.<\/p>\n\u015ar\u012bla Prabhup\u0101da has given me the acquaintance of \u015ar\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101-ku\u1e47\u1e0da, the favourite place of R\u0101dh\u0101-Govinda for Their pastimes, and the great Govardhana Hill. Last but not least, \u015ar\u012bla Prabhu\u00adp\u0101da has given me the great hope that one day I may be accepted into the confidential camp of servitors who are always eagerly serving the lotus feet of \u015ar\u012b \u015ar\u012b R\u0101dhik\u0101-M\u0101dhava-sundara. All these inconceivable, matchless gifts are given by \u015ar\u012bla Prabhup\u0101da. Therefore, I bow down before his lotus feet.<\/p>\n
This prayer certainly expresses all the wonders that are the matchless gifts of His Divine Grace \u015ar\u012bla A.C. Bhaktived\u0101nta Swami Prabhup\u0101da.<\/p>\n
These matchless gifts are the exclusive property of the \u0101c\u0101ryas<\/em> in the disciplic succession of \u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu coming down from \u015ar\u012bla R\u016bpa Gosv\u0101m\u012b. These matchless gifts are not available in other samprad\u0101yas<\/em> or through the transcendental teachings of the Vedas<\/em>. These matchless gifts are available only by the grace of the eternal associates of \u015ar\u012b \u015ar\u012b R\u0101dh\u0101-Govinda and \u015ar\u012b Caitanya Mah\u0101prabhu, who have descended to this world from Goloka V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana and \u015ar\u012b Svetadv\u012bpa \u2013 Navadv\u012bpa-dh\u0101ma.<\/p>\nIf we are conscious of all these wonders that our \u0101<\/em>c<\/em>\u0101<\/em>rya <\/em>O\u1e41 Vi\u1e63\u1e47up\u0101da Paramaha\u1e41sa \u015ar\u012b \u015ar\u012bmad A.C. Bhaktived\u0101nta Swami Prabhup\u0101da has descended to give us, then we can consider that we have properly approached the lotus feet of our guru. Devoid of this understanding, what have we really gained?
