Who we are

The Rūpānuga Bhajana Āśrama was first inaugeratated by Śrīla B.G. Narasiṅgha Mahārāja in Vṛndāvana-dhāma in 1990, and was reestablished again by his godbrother, Śrīla Bhakti Kiśora Āraṇya Mahārāja, and disciples of Śrīla Narasiṅgha Mahārāja in 2020.

Before leaving this world in 2020, Śrīla Narasiṅgha Mahārāja expressed his desire to spend nine months a year in Vṛndāvana preaching with Śrīla Bhakti Kiśora Āraṇya Mahārāja. The reestablishment of the Rūpānuga Bhajana Āśrama in Vṛndāvana is the humble attempt of his followers to preach on his behalf and fulfil that desire.

The Rūpānuga Bhajana Āśrama is situated in Madana-mohana Ghera under the benign shelter of the āśrama Deities, Śrī Śrī Guru-Gaurāṅga Gāndhārvikā-Govindasundara and Śrī Girirāja who are worshipped by the devotees here.

The āśrama is committed to propagating the devotional philosophy of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu as taught by His foremost follower, Śrīla Rūpa Gosvami and the succession of Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava ācāryas – in particular those of Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedānta Swami Prabhupāda, Śrīla B.R. Śrīdhara Deva Gosvāmī Mahārāja and Śrīla Bhakti Gaurava Narasiṅgha Mahārāja.

Śrīla Bhakti Gaurava Narasiṅgha Mahārāja

Śrīla Bhakti Gaurava Narasiṅgha Mahārāja (Jagat Guru Swami) appeared on Annadā Ekādaśī at Corpus Christi, USA in 1946. After studies in haṭha-yoga, he took initiation from his guru, Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedānta Swami Prabhupāda in 1970 and preached in the African continent for 3 years before accepting sannyāsa in 1976. After Prabhupāda’s disappearance, Śrīla Narasiṅgha Mahārāja took śīkṣā (spiritual instruction) from Śrīla B.R. Śrīdhara Deva Gosvāmī and Śrīla B.P Purī Gosvāmī. Although he spent most of his spiritual life preaching in India, Narasiṅgha Mahārāja also travelled to Europe, Mexico and the United States to spread the message of his spiritual masters. He penned over 200 essays and 13 books delineating Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava siddhānta. He left this world in his āśrama in South India in 2020.

December 7, 2022|News|

Yesterday saw the arrival of Śrīpāda Bhakti Mādhurya Bon Mahārāja from Italy. Śrīpāda Bon Mahārāja is the ācārya of the 'Shri Chaitanya Shridhara Sanga' and will be staying with us at Rupanuga Bhajan Ashram for two months. Śrīpāda Bon Mahārāja brought suitcases of gifts from his land in Italy where they grow so much of their own fruits and grains. After bringing a variety of live trees for the ashram he then walked the garden and gave advice how and where to plant them. All the devotees led by Śrīpāda Āraṇya Mahārāja are very happy to have Bon Mahārāja's company for the coming days.
